1950’s Technology

During the 1950’s the job market was expanding. There were not enough workers. Employers were snatching up everyone who could work. Employers were happy to have people straight out of school. A candidate simply wrote up a few notes on his or her background; frequently only one page. The candidate might have visited 5 or 6 companies, received two offers, accepted one of them, and stayed with that company for the next 30 to 40 years - until they were downsized or de-hired out as being out-of-date. This technology of job hunting carried on quite effectively until the mid-1960’s. Then the job market started to get more difficult.  University and college graduates complained that there were no jobs available for people with their educational qualifications. From the late 1970’s into the 1990's the situation for people looking for their ideal jobs became very restricted. And those people needed to learn a set of tools to search with.
