Dear Geoffrey
I got my job and I got it with the so-called ridiculously longgg resume which I tried to shorten so many times against your advice. I know management read my document because they had no trouble placing me in the top salary bracket. I confirmed with them after the job offer.
A big THANK YOU for the coaching on questions and insisting that I prepare a briefing document (Interview Presentation) and actually read it aloud to the interview committee at the start of my interview – it worked!
Your positive encouragement gave me the confidence I needed. Your continued support in dealing directly with a response to the resume that was so unfairly brushed off is very much appreciated. The coaching and editing of a continuous and on-going series of letters, vetting the Dear John letters that I received, was a valuable lesson. I am totally qualified for the position I tried for, even though in this instance, prior selection was the cause for not getting a meeting. Without your encouragement and support I would never have pursued this position to this extent.
The follow-up you did after the resume and training was the catalyst to nailing down a position once offered. I am following up all my network contacts with thank you notes – this being the first one. I hope you and your staff enjoyed the champagne.
Mary B.
